Siobhan was able to make some alterations to this already finished piece to accommodate a longer shoulder strap. She did so flawlessly and shipped it to me within 48 hours from her store to my door. Recycling yarn from sweaters!
Weaving on my sweet little LeClerc Dorothy table loom.

Wool is in my blood.

My grandmother was a seamstress, knitter, crocheter, rug hooker, and tatter. She could draw a pattern from seeing a stylish young lady walk past her apartment. My mother made most of our clothes growing up (including my green silk wedding dress!), knit like a maniac, and took up weaving in her later years.

When Mom got sick she didn't want us to visit her all the time out of pity, so I asked her to teach me how to knit so that I could be close to her. I was so proud of my first work on my sweater, and she took one look and said, "It's backward. Rip it out." Sounds harsh, but she was right - I was twisting every stitch!

Since then I've been constantly knitting, spinning, weaving, "murdering" sweaters for their delicious yarn, dyeing yarn and fabric, and sewing; often designing my own patterns from scratch based on what I want to create.

I've really enjoyed creating these items, and hope you do, too! Please let me know if there's something you'd like that you're not seeing. I have lots of tricks up my sleeve!

Frequently asked questions

Care instructions

For yarn, hand wash with a no-rinse wool wash such as Eucalan, Soak, or Unicorn Wash.

For hand woven and/or upcycled accessories made of cashmere, wool, alpaca, or wool blends, hand wash preferably using a no-rinse wool wash and air dry. They can also be washed with Woolite, but it's not quite as gentle so don't use too much. If needed, you can use a steam iron (don't press) or clothes steamer to get out wrinkles.

For wool bags, you can spot clean with Dawn dishwashing liquid. Denim bags can also be cleaned with a Tide stain stick. Do not submerge leather straps in water; clean/condition with products made for leather.

For cotton and cotton-blend garments, hand wash or machine wash delicate, air dry, press with a hot steam iron.

Sizing details

Sizing is indicated on individual items, but let me know if you need something larger or smaller -- I can often custom-make an item for you in your size!

Custom and personalized orders

I'm happy to take custom orders, but do require 50% deposit up front and the balance of payment prior to shipping. I also cannot take returns or exchanges on custom orders.

Gift wrapping and packaging

Please let me know if your purchase is a gift and I will wrap accordingly and remove any price tags.
